Parenthood Ramblings - 20
Yes, I understand that it's a WHO's directive to make breastfeeding of
the newborns mandatory and the doctors specially paediatricians along
with the various parenting websites are religiously following the
directive. They are even going to the extent of glorifying the mothers
who can express their breast milk to satiate the hunger of their newborn
babies. But, what if a mother cannot express breast milk sufficient
enough for her child? Does this make her a bad mother? According
to the websites and the paediatricians, they are bad mothers. Even if
they don't declare this openly, they are going to the extent of
depressing these helpless mothers by publishing breast milk
glorification articles one after the other. What I do not understand is
the reason behind this activity. A new mother is already going through a
lot of obstacles topped by the baby blues gifted by the C-Section
Surgery. What's the point in killing her motivation again? A mother
becomes a good mother if she can mould her child to become a good human
being, not by merely expressing breastmilk and allowing the child to go
astray.
